WELL PLANNING, ENGINEERING, & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Summary of Planning Procedures and Objectives
Using many years of directional drilling experience, combined with state of the art software, Expert is able to accurately model and predict torque/drag, bit hydraulics, pressure loss output and coefficients of friction. Bottom hole assembly, (BHA), design and bit selection are two of the most important items to consider when designing a directional well. Expert also takes into account many important input parameters and design constraints to come up with a workable directional drilling solution. Some examples of constraints and input parameters are: offset well performance, formation type, well plan trajectory and build requirements, desired ROP, hoisting equipment limitations, MWD/LWD working requirements, surface equipment limitations, and hole cleaning requirements. Our extended experience in each drilling area allows us to optimize the directional drilling solution in consideration of these factors. In addition to planning, Expert also establishes good working relationships with drilling engineers, drilling foreman, rig crews and other contractors to ensure that clear lines of communication are established. The main objective of planning is to save the client money by proposing the best possible way to drill a quality wellbore in the least amount of time. Using our database of previously drilled wells enables us to propose a drilling plan that will work successfully and be cost effective. Because of our history, against which no other vendor can compare, the client can only benefit from using Expert for its directional drilling services.
